Shop Name: Verte PhotographyOwner(s): Candy
Where you can find our Small Business: WEBSITE II BLOG II FB II Twitter II Pinterest
Shop Established: I have previously owned my own Photography business in Colorado since 2006, However I recently moved to Houston, TX and am reestablishing a new business here that opened in August.
What our Shop Offers: As a photographer I am always looking for ways to keep things simple. I offer portraits, and product photography with a Eco-friendly attitude, using recycled, up-cycled, natural & organic items. I craft and re-purpose many of my items myself and focus on providing quality images at a reasonable price.
What Inspired you to Open a Shop: I have been in the photography industry for over 20 years, I love being my own boss and have redesigned my photography business to encompass an Eco-friendly attitude, along with my desire to see other small business owners succeed. I thought very hard over the past year about how to take these passions and create a business with them!

Where we get inspiration for our Products: I take inspiration for my product photography from the products I shoot. For example I have clients who want the photo to set the stage for a story for their products, so I utilize props that go with the feel of the product. (I have images I can send to you for a few examples) While on the creative side, I look for new props and backgrounds everywhere... mostly thrift stores and garage sells - where I look at every item and judge it by its lines, curves, shape and texture think... how would this photograph, some things I can dye or paint to make them work... others I combine, break up or re-purpose in order to create a look or style that I am wanting for the images.

What makes our shop different from other storefronts: I am different from many photographers because I choose to focus on small business and charities. I offer business head-shots, fundraising, and product images rather then wedding or family portraits. While I CAN offer those services, and have an extensive background in them... it is not my true passion at this time. I would rather refer you to someone else then not give you my best. I offer a "mail to me" option for product photography - so even if you are not in the Houston area you can ship products to me, I photograph them, post on a secure site for your review, and after approval ship them back.

I, for one, can vouch for how wonderful it is to work with CJ from Verte Photography! She was active in helping me chose backgrounds and props to showcase my items. I look forward to working with her in the future!
