Play.

I'll never forget the sweet look of excitement on Ryan's face when we found out that we were having a sweet baby girl. He had the look of the proud daddy that had been hoping that the sono would say we were having a sweet girl.  The look of genuine happiness, and the look of happy tears welling in his eyes, although he says it was the lighting, knowing the sweet heart he has, I know better.
In fact, that night at dinner I said "you've secretly wanted a girl the whole time haven't you?"
he replied to me "Well....when you told me we were pregnant I could see a little girl in my head, but when everyone said they thought we were having a boy I couldn't see a picture."

be still my heart.

The moment I found out we were having a little girl I was beyond excited, I was excited for a baby in general but the things I was excited about before when everyone thought we were having a boy turned to new things, like watching her be a daddy's girl, and all the beautiful outfits and tea parties and dollies.

And I'm such a lucky mama that her daddy is excited for those things too.
So. Excited.

Baby A has received her first dolly a few weeks ago, the first one that will lay in her crib and she will be loving on as one of her first. One that will sit in her nursery waiting for her arrival, and will be tucked away in her hospital bag.
It arrived, and I'm so, so excited and utterly in love.

Let me tell you a little story before I disclose this beautiful dolly -
I let Ryan full pick out this outfit, because I felt that it would be an awesome thing for him to do, and I knew it was something he would enjoy doing.
So, we went to the store and he searched and searched through the racks, picking up different outfits, putting some back, comparing this one and that one. A lot of thought went into this outfit, and it melted the heck out of my heart.
Finally he picked the outfit, a jammy outfit that read "I have Sweet Dreams"
he says to me,
"Maybe this will help her have sweet dreams".

Be Still My Heart.

Our little girl is SOO lucky to have such a great daddy.

So, I packed up the outfit and shipped it to Aubrey and she came up with an awesome idea.
A doll in jammies.
PERFECT!
So, we have the first ever Pajama Flapper baby from this very special company.

She is the sweetest.

Aubrey, from Aubrey Plays, created this beautiful doll from the little dress that Ryan picked out special just for her first dolly.
The first of many dolls I am sure we will be getting from Aubrey.
The thing I love the most is the doll is made out of the dress, and as baby A outgrows her clothes I can send a dress to Aubrey and get a new doll made to add to her collection, and keepsake that captures her outfit for years and years to come which is absolutely so perfect, and perfect for any special occasion outfit that can allow baby A to love the outfit in a new way.
The re-purposing of the clothes is such an amazing idea.

I've been blogging and becoming friends with Aubrey for years, and have always loved her shop.
She has the cutest items, and I'm sure we'll be adding to baby A's collection with more than just the dolls.
There are so many cute things and Aubrey is oh so sweet, and oh so talented.
A genuine soul.
I LOVE genuine people, and she is absolutely that and she is a ton of fun.

  2. Kristina! That dolly is so cute!!! I remember when my hubby and I were pregnant with our little man. Everyone said I was having a little girl and I was fine with that, but in my head I kept thinking 'this is a little boy....' It turns out Mama knows best, and we love our little guy!!
