A Coffee Mug Swap

Do y'all remember this post, where I highlighted the adorable owl mug that was heat sensitive and I couldn't get over how cute it was?
In reality it was just a wish list item, not something that I ever expected to arrive at my door step - but friends....It. Did.
On Tuesday, my mail came a bit late and once it came and I checked my mailbox. At our house we have a community box with small mail compartments, and large compartments at the bottom that require a special key.
I received the typical Tuesday ads and misc junk mail, and a I received a manilla bubble envelope - and two keys to larger mailboxes.

One box I knew was coming but the other - I had no idea.
"Perpetual kid" I read. Hmmm...odd.
The Manilla Envelope had the return address of the gal I just sent a package to on Saturday. I was a little confused (I'll get to that in a minute) but I was intrigued about the mystery box and the manilla envelope.

You see, I participated in my first ever coffee mug swap.
And I thought that it was a sneaky, suspicious - be stealthy and stalk to heck out of your swap partner without them knowing who you are - but turns out, my swap partner had me and vice versa. TOO funny.

So, What was in the Manilla Folder? A sweet card telling me my mug would be arriving separately accompanied by this absolutely adorable outfit made by my swap partner, Jennifer of Vintage Gwen. How sweet is that?!

And the box?
It had this amazing and awesome mug in it.
I. Was. Floored.

I cannot get over the adorableness of this mug. It's even more amazing in person.

Ryan walked in the door from work shortly after I got done opening all of the mail and boxes with everything strung across our kitchen counters and table. The shipping box from the the mug on one side of the kitchen, ads and junk mail on the counter, the adorable gift for baby A setting on the tissue paper and my brand new mug on the counter. And the other box we received oepened on the table.

His eyes were huge at the scene of our kitchen. I wish I could have taken a photo but the first words out of his mouth were "Oh my goodness. Someone sent you that mug you have been eyeing? Who did that?!"

"Jennifer!"

"Jennifer?....do we know her?"

I started laughing and said "remember the mug we shipped to JENNIFER on Saturday? I was her swap partner too and apparently she saw it on my blog! I'm floor right now that she sent it to me!"

and then I showed him the sweet gift for A. He, too, couldn't believe her generosity!

I've had such a fun time getting to know Jennifer from over at Vintage Gwen, turns out she is a mama to a November kiddo too, and she is also from the midwest - Oklahoma to be exact - how fun is that?  She is so fun and so sweet! If you have a second, I would love for you to go say hello to her and you can see the mug I sent her here.
